Hey Surf Friends & Family,
As you might have seen on the news, this Saturday, Tenerife faces a crucial moment in time: the largest protest ever against uncontrolled tourism growth; “Canarias tiene un límite.”
Tenerife, our island home, is struggling. Beaches are jam-packed, nature is suffering, and our culture is fading fast.
Before we dive in, we want to acknowledge that this message might sound a bit serious and even a bit contradictory coming from a surf school that relies on tourism. But we’re committed to building a community that not only enjoys surfing and nature but also stands up for what’s right.
At our school, we are committed to responsible practices in our industry, like minimizing our carbon footprint and supporting local initiatives. Our goal is to have a positive impact with our activities that don’t harm the environments we love so much.
And here’s how you can help: as our valued clients, your choices matter. Supporting local businesses, respecting nature, and being part of our community contribute to responsible tourism.
As this crucial moment approaches, we urge you to listen, learn, and take action. Let’s keep surfing responsibly, leaving a positive impact on both nature and our community.
Stay tuned for updates on how you can make a difference. Let’s keep surfing with purpose and passion, now more than ever!
